Looking for CineStill BwXX sample photos — and for portraits on film with real analog film grain, not clinical DSLR sharpness? The first frames were shot on CineStill BwXX 35mm — CineStill’s stills-packaged Kodak Double-X (Eastman 5222) black and white cinema film — on a Leica M3. A 120 roll was shot at 200 ISO (box 250) on a Zeiss Super Ikonta 531, 6×4.5, and square 6×6 portraits on a Hasselblad 500 CM with CineStill BwXX 120.
BwXX is a classic panchromatic B&W stock, around EI 250 in daylight (about 200 under tungsten). It has the punchy midtones and grain of a cinema emulsion, and it develops in standard black-and-white chemistry.

Hasselblad 500 CM — Portraits on CineStill BwXX 120
These square 6×6 portraits were shot on CineStill BwXX 120 with a Hasselblad 500 CM — the medium-format grain and tonal depth that set portraits on film apart from sharp digital headshots. Developed in standard black-and-white chemistry.
CineStill BwXX is a stills roll of Kodak Double-X (Eastman 5222) — these samples include Leica M3 35mm frames, a Zeiss Super Ikonta 531 6×4.5 120 roll shot at 200 ISO (box 250), and square Hasselblad 500 CM 120 portraits with real analog grain, developed in standard black-and-white chemistry.
